Eden handles current firmware key generations well, which is exactly why it copes with titles released after other projects stalled. It keeps the standard key format: one prod.keys file, same as every other emulator, and only Eden’s expected folders change.
Download prod keys for Eden
The current release, v23.0.0, covers every key generation from v16.1.0 upward, so it also " "boots older titles. One file serves eden and every other emulator on your machine.
Eden install paths
Place the file at the location below. The filename must be exactly prod.keys — a trailing "
".txt is the most common reason an emulator reports no keys at all.
Where Eden looks for prod.keys
%APPDATA%/eden/keys/~/.config/eden/keys/Internal Storage/eden/keys/Installing keys in Eden, step by step
- Download the current
prod.keysfrom the homepage download table. - Close Eden on desktop; on Android, force-stop it from recents rather than switching away.
- Copy the file into the platform folder listed above — Eden keeps its own directory and does not read Yuzu's or Suyu's.
- Relaunch. Eden detects keys automatically and lists the newest generation it recognises under Settings → System.
- Install firmware via Tools → Install Firmware for commercial titles — see the firmware guide.
Errors Eden prints, and what they mean
| Message | What it means | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| “Missing keys” despite a correct folder | The filename is wrong — usually prod.keys(1) from a duplicate download. | Rename to exactly prod.keys and delete the extras. |
| Specific new games fail to decrypt | Your dump predates that title's key generation. | Grab v23.0.0 from the download table. |
| Works on desktop but not on Android | The mobile folder is separate from the desktop install. | Copy the file to the Android destination as well. |
| Game boots then hangs | Permissive key parsing let it start without complete firmware. | Install firmware rather than assuming the keys are at fault. |
What makes Eden different
Newer-generation parsing
Eden reads recent key generations cleanly, which is the main reason it handles post-discontinuation releases better than archived Yuzu builds.
Forgiving validation
Eden attempts to boot with partial key sets. Treat that as a fallback, not a setup: complete dumps avoid subtle in-game decryption failures that only appear mid-session.
Android-first paths
No AppData redirection and no portable-mode surprises — what you see in the file manager is what Eden reads, which makes it the simplest emulator to set up on a phone.
How Eden compares to other emulators
The same prod.keys file you use here also works in every other Switch emulator, so a clean "
"install here means the rest of your setup is ready too. Key strictness, firmware dependency and platform "
"support are compared side by side in the emulator compatibility "
"guide, and the installation guide lists every folder for "
"every emulator in one table.
